Hi Joe, can you finish the following sentence: ‘My business is an incredible company to work for because…’
We are all working towards a common goal of supporting our business units to deliver the digital revolution and energy transition which is something that really resonates with my personal beliefs.
Give us an example of a time where you have been supported to achieve your best in your career with us.
I feel I have had a great team around me, always willing to let me take on new challenges -for example, my colleague was always willing to get me involved and let me take on new tasks to coach me through to becoming the next consolidation expert which really highlights our culture of continuously empowering each other to reach our full potential.
VINCI Energies UK & RoI is an organisation made up of incredible teams both large and small. Tell us about your incredible team and what it’s like to work with them.
We have a really strong finance team at the VINCI Energies UK Pole office. As we are a support team, it is often our job to come up with solutions to entirely novel problems or where we don’t always have perfect information, but we are empowered to collaborate with people from all levels within our organisation to come up with solutions. We are very lucky to work with the incredible wider finance team, where we have a number of really excellent finance business partners and company controllers, all of whom are a pleasure to work with! A real perk of the job is getting to meet people from over the UK and Ireland but also get the chance to meet other finance personnel from all over the world through the VINCI Energies network.
At VEUK and our associated businesses, we are transforming our world through the ‘digital and energy revolutions’. Please tell us how your (or your teams) contribution is helping us to achieve that goal…
Our team is about helping the wider finance team to be effective, efficient and help them make best use of the reports and tools available so they can spend more time to be business partners within our business unit model. I also see our birds eye view at the Pole office which allows us to see things others might not, this is to make sure we can continue to show the UK and Ireland as a great place for expansion within VINCI Energies through being knowledgeable and accurate, but also, provide insights and information to senior leaders to help make decisions to make our business units more effective.
Finally, can you tell us in a few words why you are proud to do what you do?
I see my job as to help our VINCI Energies UK & RoI finance network be as efficient and productive as possible and in doing so, help them be more effective in helping their business units deliver the energy transition and digital revolution in this country. I see our role as integral in allowing for our decentralised business model to work effectively and making sure the principles of VINCI Energies are followed from a finance perspective.
