The Perth Six Circle Project will receive just over £4,000 along with practical support from the VINCI UK Foundation to build a new garden retreat for its service users, where they can rest, express themselves and sense a connection with others without feeling on show.

The VINCI UK Foundation has awarded the Perth Six Circle Project in central Scotland just over £4,000 for a new outdoor covered area in the garden at its community hub.

The Perth Six Circle Project aims to reduce social isolation and exclusion for adults who are disadvantaged because of challenging circumstances, such as poor mental health, substance misuse, imprisonment, unemployment or community service orders. It encourages them to make positive changes in their lives and realise their potential, by promoting self-help and offering participants the opportunity to learn and develop their knowledge, skills and confidence.

This mission tallies perfectly with that of the VINCI UK Foundation, which was established in 2016 to improve social cohesion in the communities surrounding VINCI businesses and remove barriers to training, employment, housing, healthcare, mobility and leisure activities for society’s most vulnerable and disadvantaged.

The VINCI UK Foundation, with Steve Mosley who works at nearby Omexom as sponsor, previously supported the Perth Six Circle Project in its first year of operation. Since then, the organisation has gone on to help 170 other charities across the UK and Ireland with practical support from VINCI employees and almost £1.2 million in grants.

“The Perth Six Circle Project is a great charity that we supported in our first year in 2016. It has become a personal favourite among our teams in Scotland as they do a lot when it comes to empowering people with digital confidence. I’m very pleased to be supporting them again and to use my professional skills and experience in assisting with the garden Hub and associated IT” said Steve Mosley, Information & Communication manager at Omexom.

Marlow Clark, Chief Executive of Perth Six Circle, added: “We are thrilled that the VINCI UK Foundation has chosen to work with us again. The new covered outdoor area in our community hub garden will provide a restful place for our service users when they need to take a break, but where they can still feel connected with others. We want to create a space where people can grow, express themselves and not feel on show so they can develop their confidence when they go out and about in public.”
